Microsoft Windows 7 Features and Pricing

The Microsoft Windows 7, set to launch on 22 October 2009 world wide. The worldwide upgrade option programme is due to begin on 26 June. Those who want to upgrade to Windows 7 on a older PC will pay a reduced price for the software. Stand alone versions of Windows 7, that can run on more than one PC, will also be available.
Anyone outside Europe buying a new PC between now and then - running Windows Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate - will get the chance to upgrade the operating system on it, at no cost, to Windows 7. While Microsoft will not charge for the upgrade, some PC makers may impose a fee to ship disks with Windows 7 on them to customers. Microsoft will make an upgrade offer to buyers of new PCs but will send them a full version of the software rather than an upgrade version.
The upgrade option was not available, Microsoft said, because it was trying to comply with European competition regulations. Microsoft has said that Windows 7 will be offered in Europe without the Internet Explorer browser on board.
The preferred remedy for Europe he said, was to offer users a screen when they first switch on Windows 7 that gives them a choice between IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Opera.
In Europe the full version will cost the same as an upgrade version. In the UK the upgrade version of the Home Premium edition of Windows 7, available to those with an existing Windows license, will be £79.99. By contrast buying this in a shop, and which can be installed on more than one machine, will cost £149.99.

A flying car will be unveiled sooner than we Anticipated. An American company Terrafugia Transition, based near Boston, is set to unveil the dual-purpose car-cum-plane vehicle called \'The Flying Car\' as early as 2011. The two-seater vehicle can let you fly if you wish to avoid the congested city traffic.
If you want to drive on the road, just touch the road. The vehicle will fold up its wings in 30 seconds and transform itself into a car. The Flying Car can travel up to 725 kilometres in the air at a speed of more than 115 kilometres per hour. Fuelled by gasoline, it has front wheel drive on the road and a propeller for flight. With its wings folded, it can be parked in your ordinary car garage.
The CEO of the company told Canadian TV (CTV) network here that they have successfully test-flown \"The Flying Car\" as many as 28 times. The tests have shown that the vehicle can drive, fly and switch from being a plane to a car in just 30 seconds. Testing has been very successful. Now we have got a very good handling vehicle and our test pilot said that the flights were just remarkably unremarkable. He said this miracle vehicle will ease problems for pilots who currently face problems like weather which sometimes doesn\'t allow them to take off or land. This vehicle allows a pilot any time, if the weather changes, to divert to the nearest airport, fold up their wings and drive safely under the weather.
The company vice president Richard Gersh said that. the Transition the name for \"The Flying Car\" is not designed to replace the automobile. However, it will solve transportation issues for a variety of circumstances.
The vehicle will be able travel on ordinary roads. Its initial cost is expected to be around $200,000 (nearly Rs.1 crore), says the company which has already orders for 60 vehicles. The vice president of Terrafugia said that, Our depositors represent a wide-cross section in terms of age, interests, and intended use of the vehicle. We have deposits from both experienced pilots and non-pilots who intend to earn their Sport Pilot certificate.

2 Min Read
The latest report has placed emphasis on the Mobile Search arena where Google still rules the roost. However, there are minor aberrations in specific and linguistically isolated countries like China and Russia, where other search engines like Yandex and Baidu compete head on with Google.
Opera on latest report shows us Mobile Search Shows Rapid Growth. The report consists of a monthly analysis of the trends followed by the users of Opera Mini, Opera\'s light weight browser for mobile phones. Other interesting statistics include the fact that Opera Mini now commands a 24.5 million strong user base. This translates to an increase of 8.4 percent over the previous month and 136 percent year on year. All these users generated over 9.6 billion page views. This is a 27 percent increase over the data from May 2008. The traffic too has seen an upsurge with a phenomenal 245 percent growth.
The total data generated by accessing all this content has been pegged at 160 million MB. As most of you might be aware, for faster browsing, Opera Mini servers compress data before transmitting them to your phone. So, in effect, 1.5 Petabytes of data have been served by the Opera Mini servers over the past month.
Indian Opera Mini users seem to like Nokia\'s 5130c a lot! That, in fact, happened to be the most used handset from which users have accessed the web using Opera Mini. Others in the top five position include the Nokia N70, n73, 3110C and the Nokia 6300. The only non-Nokia phone to make it to the list is the Sony Ericsson W200i.
India has moved up the rank of countries when it comes to the usage of Opera Mini. India has pushed Ukraine down by a spot. In fact, India has seen a huge 531 percent growth in the number of page views since May 2008. In terms of unique users, the growth is still impressive at 128.9 percent. The top five sites accessed by Indian users include Google, Orkut, Gmail Yahoo and Rediff.
