The scientists demonstrate the ability to decode a persons preference for one of two drinks with 80 per cent accuracy by measuring the intensity of near infrared light absorbed in brain tissue.
Canadas largest children\'s rehabilitation hospital have developed a new technique that uses infrared light brain imaging to decode preference with the goal of ultimately opening the world of choice to children who can\'t speak or move.
This is the first system that decodes preference naturally from spontaneous thoughts,
After teaching the computer to recognize the unique pattern of brain activity associated with preference for each subject, the researchers accurately predicted which drink the participants liked best 80 per cent of the time.
Most brain-computer interfaces designed to read thoughts require training.
Wearing a headband fitted with fibre-optics that emit light into the pre-frontal cortex of the brain, they were shown two drinks on a computer monitor, one after the other, and asked to make a mental decision about which they liked more. When your brain is active, the oxygen in your blood increases and depending on the concentration, it absorbs more or less light.
Luu says. The brain is too complex to ever allow decoding of a persons random thoughts. However, if we limit the context limit the question and available answers, as we have with predicting preference then mind reading becomes possible.
Luu says. In some people, their brains are more active when they don\'t like something, and in some people they are more active when they do like something.GPS Fleet Tracking System

$10 Sakshat laptop that Indian officials unveiled yesterday?
it\'s not a laptop. I\'ve been reading conflicting information about this device for the past few months. Sometimes it\'s supposed to cost $10, sometimes $100. And sometimes it\'s called a laptop while other times it had been referred to as a portable computer, which isn\'t necessarily the same thing as a laptop.
Now that the first image of the device has popped up online, the picture is becoming a bit more clear. As I predicted last week, there\'s no keyboard or CPU. The box is a portable device that\'s about 10 inches by 5 inches, and which can store information. You can access that info from a full fledged computer. It sounds to me like this is a glorified USB flash drive, but it\'s also supposed to be able to let users connect to the computer, so I\'m guessing there\'s some sort of processor in there.
The price right now is being pegged at closer to $30 than $10, but the goal is to bring the cost down so that the Sakshat doesn\'t cost much more than a textbook. You know, unless you also want to plug in a monitor and keyboard.

Google Gives Tough Competition to Yahoo and Microsoft
There is a tough Competition between yahoo and Microsoft… but now there is another competitor in the race.
Microsoft is the first largest e-mail service, with 283 million users
Yahoo is the second largest e-mail service, with 274 million users
Gmail is the third-largest e-mail service, with 113 million worldwide users as of September according to comScore.
Google announced Tuesday it is adding video and audio chat to its free e-mail service, joining Microsoft and Yahoo in a race to make communication on the Web a more social experience.
Both Microsoft and Yahoo offer video with their instant messaging services, but have not integrated it into e-mail.
Last month, Yahoo announced it was providing programmers the software instructions they need to write applications that can extend the features of Yahoo mail. Ash Patel, executive vice president of the audience product division, said the goal was to help hundreds of millions of users “communicate better and get more done.â€
Microsoft has also been upgrading its communication platform, known as Windows Live

Read More USB Drive With Beer
If you\'ve run out of beer and for some awful reason you cant go get more. What could possibly taunt you more than a beer filled USB drive? I swear it would not surprise me in the least to see a news bulletin somewhere, where a guy decided to try to suck the beer out of his USB drive. Itd likely start with one guy either daring or offering up some small fund to do it, like a dollar. It really wouldn\'t take much for someone to do it. Well luckily there are no links to actually purchase this USB drive, instead it is just an example of all the cool things a certain company can do with USB drives. The company can not only fill your USB drive with liquid but add little objects to the mix. Like a car for a racing company. Basically, those cheesy pens that the top of them was filled with liquid have now been replaced with these USB drives. Well, I suppose it had to happen eventually. If you feel the need to create liquid filled USB drives with your company name stamped on them just follow the link to find out more info.
Read More Why PCs crashes?
The Mains reasons why PCs crashes is as follows:
Hardware conflict
The number one reason why Windows crashes is hardware conflict. Each hardware device communicates to other devices through an interrupt request channel (IRQ). These are supposed to be unique for each device.
Bad Ram
Ram (random-access memory) problems might bring on the blue screen of death with a message saying Fatal Exception Error. A fatal error indicates a serious hardware problem. Sometimes it may mean a part is damaged and will need replacing. But a fatal error caused by Ram might be caused by a mismatch of chips.
BIOS settings
Every motherboard is supplied with a range of chipset settings that are decided in the factory. A common way to access these settings is to press the F2 or delete button during the first few seconds of a boot-up.
Hard disk drives
After a few weeks, the information on a hard disk drive starts to become piecemeal or fragmented. It is a good idea to defragment the hard disk every week or so, to prevent the disk from causing a screen freeze.
Viruses
First sign of a virus infection is instability. Some viruses erase the boot sector of a hard drive, making it impossible to start. This is why it is a good idea to create a Windows start-up disk.
Read More Creative\’s X-Fi audio technology
Creative has a better answer to the iPod touch and Zune. Creative is up with a wireless music player with Wi-Fi media sharing capabilities called the Zen X-Fi. As it can be seen in pictures those show the device sporting a chrome-and-black plastic look that\'s vaguely reminiscent of the iPhone, along with a nine-point directional pad. Besides certain Internet features, X-Fi will also come with an SD card slot and a built-in speaker.
According to leaked specs, the nine-point pad will offer users the option of instant messaging on Windows Live or Yahoo Messenger in a phone-style typing schema. The device will also use wireless to share media between home networked computers and access an Internet-based media pool, called a Public Home Server.
The player is named after Creative\'s X-Fi audio technology, which restores lost data in compressed music files to create concert-like audio effects. Users can turn to two X-Fi options Crystalizer makes audio richer and clearer, and Expand repositions the music to sound like it\'s coming from in front of you, simulating listening to a live performance on stage.
